Assorted Whimsy

Along the way during my power walks, I am delighted to be *met* by any & all manner of surprises.  Hence the title of this entry.  Whether it's cute critters, unexpected / unique finds, or even the more ordinary items found in an unusual setting ...   There's a good bit to *gather* into a distinct collection of one sort or another.
On the other hand, much of what I capture never sees the light of day  -ever. {sigh}   If that's the case, then when I have occasion to go back & look through photos, I'm elated to rediscover a multitude of inviting sights.

That's definitely the advantage of a digital collection  =   Usually Taking Too Many Pics.

Here's a fanciful way to highlight Summer.
They're a front porch display at a nearby house.

This cool bear sports a chocolate-chip ice cream treat.
Last year he only had a vanilla cone.

Summer Squash Update (...or is it a Pumpkin?)

Seems like things have really changed since last week in spite of the fact we haven't had much rain, weeds are all over the place, and actually our collective Green Thumbs haven't been strained at all.  That simply means we don't get out there to take care of gardening chores often-  it's been the size & type to be doing well on its own in every season, even proudly putting out a pound or two of Prize Produce.

Sooo take a good look ...  that bigger guy you see here has even sprouted quite a nice promising Sibling!

Light Explosions!

Yes, these are primarily Spring floral displays most enjoyed as our area had an extended mild Winter followed by many pleasurable weeks of opening the windows.  Lovely tendrils...  splendid leaves...  intricate patterns & designs...  and delicate blossoms full of bold color.  Wonderful!

Spring Visitor

Mama Fox
Several weeks later,
we saw this little Youngster.

Rather cute Little Guy or Gal.
Also kept seeing a small fox scurrying
across the back area or on the golf cart path
to hurry under cover among trees.

Wonder what she saw?

Rather interesting, however, is that we
haven't seen any more foxes in recent weeks...

What's this?   Umm...
...a growing vine of some sort.

Just so you can see where this "thing" is, right behind those Yellow Daisies along the fence   -quite curious!
It continued to make a long trail.

This weekend's discovery!

Still not sure what we've sprouted which we did not plant.  Maybe it's some
type of squash or
pumpkin perhaps?

Reflections on this lovely August afternoon.
Taken at our local golf course
along the 2nd hole.

Since I can .......   I will!   There will be more posts as thoughts tumble out along with a boat-load of pics which have been waiting patiently on a bulging digital card.  As I become more familiar with formatting options, be on the lookout for design changes and experiments.  And I'll try to be more consistent about filing regular items.  Seems like the Xanga blog got "left behind" through no fault of my own {sort of} since tutoring has rather swallowed me whole in recent months.  I reeeally do love those shades of purple and hydrangeas on Xanga!  http://srt72.xanga.com/

However, I'm simply giving notice of my intentions right here in hopes of creating a new place for us to meet frequently and share common interests.  Thanks for checking in when you take a notion.  Feel free to subscribe so you don't miss one single Musing or Marvel!

Another Amazing Milestone in 2012 ...   6 - 0

With the launch of a new blog, I'm opening with just one of many incredible bits of news this year.  It's pretty darn self-explanatory.  Hubby "found" this chocolate ice cream cake at our local DQ - of course!  Thank you one and all for well wishes, timely cards, sweet thoughts, generous gifts, and corny comments.
Truly appreciated, there's nothing like a joint celebration indeed.   Kind of softens the blow a bit frankly . . .   and is so much more fun.
